The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie two Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render services to the community.

SASSA might be rendering providers like new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, in addition to the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency explained it's alarmed about the large variety of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The intention on the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the large variety of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This can be due to lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no status sassa fully functional office dedicated to service the area on a daily basis. The provider level developed for intervention activities a large influx of possible beneficiaries, which makes it difficult with the Workplace to attend to all people who take a look at a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra means to help the servicing of all buyers and improve usage of Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
